My name is Steve Owens and I meet a lot of people; sometime in my travels, sometimes in my own home town. Several times (quite by accident), I have stumbled into what I consider to be fascinating stories. So after way too many got away, I decided to start recording them. Some of these conversations will be fascinating ONLY to me. Some will be fascinating to you too. In the end, I guess this podcast is just an excuse for me to get to travel, meet, and talk to more people. So if you are so inclined…

Aimee is an Irish Soprano Opera singer who lives in Galway, Ireland. In this episode we chat about how a young woman falls in love with opera music before she is even a teenager! We also chat about some of her vocal training and some of her more memorable performances, including The Junior Eurovision Song Contest, Carnegie Hall, and Christ Church Cathedral in Dublin. Aimee may have very adult musical tastes and career passion; but deep down she is still a fun loving teenager, so we end the episode talking about the nutty Irish stereotypes! This episode is a lot of fun, Aimee lets me play one of her songs from her upcoming album, and she has a truly fascinating story.

In this episode we chat about some of the differences between The UK and The US, we get into a small argument about what worldwide brands are owned by what companies (only one emerges victorious), and we talk about how the Edinburgh Fringe Festival is different from just about any other festival. Also, Ollie tells us how to get his recently recorded and as yet UNRELEASED comedy special! Don’t tell him I said so, but Ollie is A LOT of fun. In over 200 episodes; there has not been this much laughing.

We start off with him telling me stories about working at his dad’s junkyard as a kid, and then Ed tells me a little something about each of his siblings and what he learned from them. They have all passed and Ed misses them very much. He tells fun stories about them, about his time in the U.S. Army, a fun story about Betty White, and why he felt the need to publicly apologize to his first wife in his new book.
