Jack Seavor McDonald Take a walk with me down Fascination Street as I get to know Jack Seavor McDonald. Jack is an actor and an improv player in television & film. In this episode, we get to know Jack, and why he decided to become an actor. He shares stories of growing up and always finding a way to make people laugh. Jack tells the story of the unique way that he was able to join the SAG / AFTRA actors union, and how he raised the funds to pay for it. We also discuss Jack’s experiences on the sets of some of the projects he has worked on, including Hacks, the TV show TED, Never Have I Ever, and my personal thoughts on both Hacks and Young Sheldon. Brian Huskey Take a walk with me down Fascination Street as I get to know Brian Huskey. You know Brian’s face from such iconic shows as Veep, Neighbors, Search Party & Mr. Neighbor’s House 1 & 2. You know his voice from mega hits like Bob’s Burgers, Beavis and Butt-Head, and Central Park. In this episode, we chat about his path to television & film. Brian started making movies in high school with some friends but didn’t really pursue it as a career until college. He shares some of that inspiration and some of the moments that let him know that this was a legitimate career option for him. We touch on some of his early work as a writer, as well as his early days as the bass player for a band called Bicycle Face. (Spoiler alert, he lets me play his favorite track from their album). Next, we talk about getting involved with the Upright Citizens Brigade, Naked Babies improv, comedy, and writing his own projects. Mr. Neighbor’s House is one of his favorite projects that he has ever been part of. He created it, wrote it, executive produced it, & starred in it. He did the same a few years later with Mr. Neighbor’s House 2. I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t grill him about his previous podcast called Bald Talk! Geoffrey Blake Take a walk with me down Fascination Street as I get to know Geoffrey Blake. You know Geoffrey from such iconic hits as: Young Guns, Forrest Gump, Contact, Midway, and more. In this episode, we chat about almost none of those projects. Instead, we get to know Geoffrey. We find out how & where he grew up, why they moved around so much, how his health is these days, and some crazy stories about his family. Next, we move into some of the acting classes that he was part of when he was just getting started, as well as the acting class that he teaches these days. Naturally, we touch on Young Guns, and his work with Emilio Estevez & Lou Diamond Phillips. He shares a crazy story about paparazzi in Santa Monica, involving him, Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner, and the city council. This story is insane. Of course, we talk about some of his past and upcoming writing projects, and so much more! Yul Vazquez Take a walk with me down Fascination Street, as I get to know Yul Vazquez. Born in Havana, Yul and all of the women in his family escaped Fidel Castro’s Cuba to make a new life in Miami Beach, Florida. In this episode, Yul and I chat about how difficult it was for his mother, and grandmother to relocate to a new country with two children: having no money, no job, and not speaking the language. He shares how impactful those women, that experience and those early times were in influencing his life moving forward. I bring up some of the thought processes behind Yul’s work as a painter, and as a photographer. We even discuss some specific pieces that I am madly in love with. Next. I pepper him with questions about his music career, where he was signed to TWO different major record labels, under TWO different bands; all before he even thought about becoming an actor. Also, I get him to tell me how he became such good friends with some of music’s most iconic players. Yul is great friends with so many of the folks that we all grew up listening to, including: Judas Priest’s Rob Halford, The Cult’s Ian Astbury, and Maynard James Keenan (Tool / Pucifer / Sessanta 2.0). Yul shares tales of how he came to be the guitarist for the bands Urgent & Diving For Pearls; before being told by a psychic that he would become a successful actor! We go all over the place in this interview. I question him about his member ship in a character actor dinner club that is comprised of about a dozen of his friends; some who are previous guests of my show are. I even get Yul to tell me what he got his wife for their 23rd wedding anniversary, which was about a week after we recorded this conversation. We talk about what made him and some other Latino actor friends start The LAByrinth Theater Company in New York. Finally, I ask all the questions I can about his work on Seinfeld, Magic City, and of course Severance. Yul is such an amazing talent in all areas. Chris Maher Take a walk with me down Fascination Street, as I get to know Chris Maher. Chris is an actor who currently has 8 projects in either pre or post production. In this episode, we chat about his growing up in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and the long and winding path he took to find acting. After spending some post graduate time in China to study finance, and a stint in law school, Chris gets a call to become a runway model. This led to some work in commercials, and eventually roles in short & feature films. We cover his entire journey from traveling the world with his school choir, to his time in China, Chicago, and Miami. Coincidently, we each share a story about Power Rangers and Iowa. Finally, we discuss each of his 8 forthcoming projects. I ask him about all of them, which takes us on several detours. Some of his friends and co stars are previous guests of the show. Peter Jason Peter passed away on February 20, 2025. Take a walk with me down Fascination Street as I get to know veteran actor Peter Jason. In his episode we chat about why he became an actor, and some of his more memorable roles. We talk about working on 48 Hours with director Walter Hill, his connection to Frank Marshall, as well as working with John Carpenter, and some of the fun he has had on the sets of Deadwood and Baskets. Alex “AX” Foster Take a walk with me down Fascination Street as I get to know Alex Foster. AX Foster is a former Senior Assistant State’s Attorney for the state of Maryland. He practiced as a prosecutor in that office for twenty years before starting his own firm and becoming a defense attorney. After 15 or so years in that role; AX decided the time was right to write his first legal thriller novel called ‘Gavel to Gavel’. In this episode, we chat about his previous career as an actor for 7 years; where he had tons of roles on several different daytime soap operas, and why he decided to switch gears and become a lawyer. Then we get into some of his State’s Attorney days. We talk about his prosecuting criminal law where the cases ranged from drugs, gangs, animal cruelty, and even murder. Of course I find out why he decided to change sides and become a defense lawyer. We talk about the differences in the field, as well as some of the hurdles to keeping a law practice going. Finally, AX tells me why he decided to write his first novel; and why Covid was the right time. We discuss the basic premise of the book, and how many books he thinks will be in The Seneca County Courthouse Series. Book 1 of the series (Gavel to Gavel) came out a couple of years ago, and book 2 (Double Blind) is out NOW. Next we Talk about how and why he studied with Sanford (Sandy) Meisner, and how Spencer came to be in several of Emilio Estevez’s film projects. John Kapelos Take a walk with me down Fascination Street as I get to know John Kapelos. You may know John as ‘Carl, The Janitor’ from the 1984 cult classic film: The Breakfast Club; but he is so much more than that! In this episode, we chat about him spending nearly a decade with Second City, his experiences on some of the greatest John Hughes films, and even his time as ‘The Sniffing Accountant’ on Seinfeld. We discuss how the show must go on, even after his father unexpectedly passed. John reveals the moment he found out that Emelio Estevez was the son of Martin Sheen, stories from the set of The Breakfast Club, and his scene from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off that got cut. As if all of this improv comedy and hall of fame acting isn’t enough, John Kapelos also put out an album! It is called “John Kapelos: Too Hip For the Room”; and he lets me play a track from it. I think you’re gonna dig it! John is a consummate professional, and he gets honest and vulnerable with me in this interview. I appreciate him for letting go, and not holding back.
