Take a walk with me down Fascination Street as I get to know automotive journalist JP Emerson. JP and I met tangentially as mutual fans of a few automotive related podcasts; and JP was kind enough to chat with me for a bit about what he does and why he does it. In this episode JP and I chat about what got him into cars, what got him into writing about cars, and I put out a request for all of you STREETWALKERS to send him your stories. We also touch on some cars that would be really nice to have, and what makes car stories so precious. Enjoy!
Take a walk with me down Fascination Street as I get to know Michael Ames. Michael is an author who grew up on the East coast and eventually found himself in Idaho (yes, that’s a real place). In this episode we chat about great Italian food in New Jersey, then we move on to some hot corduroy talk, before diving head first into his new book. AMERICAN CIPHER: Bowe Bergdahl And The U.S. Tragedy in Afghanistan. This is a pretty fascinating interview and we learn that once again, media coverage of this event was wildly misinformed and widely misreported. Enjoy!

Take a walk with me down Fascination Street as I get to know Darcey Steinke. Darcey is an author who has just put out her SEVENTH book! In this episode we chat about some of her previous books, that time she was in a punk rock band, the TWO times she interviewed Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain, and of course we chat about her newly released book FLASH COUNT DIARY: MENOPAUSE AND THE VINDICATION OF NATURAL LIFE. This is a good book for women who have gone, or will go through “The Change”. This is also a GREAT book to help men understand just what the hell is going on during and post menopause. I H-I-G-H-L-Y recommend this book. Enjoy!
Take a walk with me down Fascination Street for PART 2 of my interview with author Stephen Jimenez. Stephen was a screenwriter who went to Laramie, Wyoming in search of enough information to write a screen play about the tragic and gruesome murder of Matthew Shepard. What he found instead were enough bread crumbs to start his own investigation into what REALLY happened that October night in 1998. In this episode we finish our conversation about the details and events that led to the tragic murder of Matthew. We also talk about the impact of this event on the lives of those in Laramie, and on the life of the author.Â

In this episode we chat about what made Stephen want to be a writer, and why he initially went to Laramie. We also talk about some of the details and information that he uncovered, and some of the things that were reported incorrectly, if at all in this highly sensationalized story.
Take a walk down Fascination Street with me as I get to know Raffaello Degruttola. Raffaello is a writer, director, actor living in London and making movies that are important to him. In this episode, we discuss what it was like to be directed by Hollywood legends Ron Howard in the film Rush, and Steven Spielberg in Saving Private Ryan. We also talk about some of Raff’s previous films, and his new film that is about to hit the festival circuit: Transference. He did send me the film to watch with my wife and WE LOVED IT! Of course we chat about other things as well including the film in theaters no that he is in with Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson: The Hustle. Enjoy!
Take a walk with me down Fascination Street as I get to know Shelley Dennis. Shelley is an actress, producer, writer, and comedienne in Los Angeles who was kind enough to chat with me about where she grew up and what led her to the entertainment business; we have a lot of fun doing it! In this episode we also talk about her Native American heritage, working in the virtual reality space, and something super cool that she can do with her left nostril…. just the left one. Enjoy!
Take a walk with me as I get to know retired Los Angeles County Homicide Detective: Danny R. Smith. In this episode, we chat about why Danny decided to become a police officer in the first place, and what led him to the Homicide Division. We touch on some of his more memorable cases, including a tiny bit on the Phil Spector case, and the case of an “Evil Bitch” that haunts him still. Eventually we chat about his transition from police officer to detective fiction novelist. There is a giveaway in this episode, thanks to Mr. Smith’s generosity. Enjoy!

Take a walk with me down Fascination Street as I get to know Christie Bishop. Fans of the Adam Carolla Show know Christie as Bald Bryan’s wife; but in this episode we get to know more about HER. Christie has been in the advertising business for nearly 2 decades, and has worked on some pretty big campaigns; including a Super Bowl spot! In this episode, we talk about those things as well as her fantastic new (ish) podcast: Commercial Grade, where she talks with industry insiders and answers those nagging questions like: ‘how much do insurance companies spend on advertising’, ‘who does the voice for that commercial I just saw’, and of course, ‘why in the hell would they do that in an ad?’ Christie also shares the story of Bryan’s diagnosis from HER perspective. Some really great insight, and some never before told stories…. so ENJOY!
